Whenever I’ve had enough of the odd behavior that surfaces due to people being crammed on a train in New York, I check out Subway Douchery and start feeling better as I laugh along with the administrators of this site. It’s just something every New Yorker can relate to because, sometimes, the subway is a freak show.

When I visited the Big Apple, I had a Mexican man serenade me with his Spanish guitar at the station. But why didn’t I see any crazy folk when I rode New York’s subway? Seriously, this post by Do While is hilarious and exposes people embarrassingly sleeping, wearing daring attire, and carrying pet rats in their mouths!

Navigating the New York subway is a perpetually frustrating beast. Well, for 99% of us suckers, anyway. Not so for Alexander Chen, who has turned the New York subway system into an ‘interactive string instrument. Using the MTA’s actual subway schedule, the piece begins in realtime by spawning trains which departed in the last minute, then continues accelerating through a 24 hour loop’. Brilliant.
