Hidden safely behind plunging brown curtains, the Burger Joint at Le Parker Meridian is worth unveiling. Entering the lobby of this sophisticated midtown Manhattan hotel, dramatic high-ceilings, a posh interior, and leather-bound everything immediately strikes. But walk down the hallway behind the reception, pull the curtain, and slip into the burger joint just under the neon sign. Dark lighting is matched by brown wood paneling covered in a wallpaper of tags, Madonna posters, and faded reviews. Read more
For Dutch Book Week, Dutch ad firm Van Wanten Etcetera created a campaign featuring sculptural book ‘portraits’ of famous biographies and the people they’re about: Anne Frank, Vincent van Gogh, Louis van Gaal, and Kader Abdolah. Hi-end image company Souverein created the sculptures. Read more

The Phenomenal Handclap Band is a collection of musicians and artists from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn who perform live as an eight-member powerhouse, creating an eye-popping spectacle more akin to a spiritual church revival than a rock show.
