Just when we thought we were at peace with missing New York Fashion Week, Mara Hoffman has gone and presented a collection inspired by the islands of Hawaii. A city girl by birth, but an island girl at heart, Hoffman sent models down the runway in tropical-printed swimsuits, short-shorts, maxi-dresses, bustiers and long skirts. With palm leaves as headpieces, the only thing missing from this dream collection was a mai tai with an umbrella in it. Island life in Hawaii never looked so good.
Ah, Google Glass. The Idea behind my recent show, Exhibit B, was simple: I really wanted to pay homage to Guy Bourdin while putting my own spin on what he’s done and how he’s influenced and inspired me. I think we share a similar sense of humor.
