Robert Morris’s 1971 installation of raw unfinished materials titled “Neo Classic” was originally shown at what was then known as the Tate Britain. It was abruptly closed after 4 days. Reportedly the gallery staff were “not able to cope with the frantic means of emotional release that the exhibition became … pandemonium broke out” reported the Times in 1971. These amazing photographs capture the original installation. The Tate recreated this exhibition in 2009 using contemporary materials and called it “Bodyspacemotionthings”.
