Nathan Sawaya’s newest collection is currently showing at Sydney’s Town Hall. The exhibition, The Art of The Brick, runs until February 5 and showcases his three dimensional LEGO sculptures and over-sized portraits. Sawaya’s largest sculpture is a dinosaur skeleton measuring about 20 meters long. It took him a whole Summer to complete. Read more

Nathan Sawaya creates art with lego bricks, creating fun, colorful blocks of large-scale sculptures. He started using lego bricks in his art early on in 2000. Mythbreakers wanted to see if they could make a large large ball and roll it down the hill without it breaking. But they didn’t have enough lego pieces, so they called upon Sawaya to supply them with lego bricks. Mythbusters tried rolling it down the hill, but it didn’t roll straight and broke apart before it hit the car. Sawaya advises to use glue.
Janay Everett attended the School of Visual Arts in New York before moving to Atlanta where she earned a bachelors degree in fine arts from the Atlanta College of Art. Her artwork is influenced by abstract expressionism. As she notes, she likes to ‘focus more on the process rather than on the finished product’. Read more

The Smirnoff Nightlife Exchange Project involved fourteen countries around the world filling crates with the best of their local nightlife and exchanging their country’s crate with another. We were there all the way, following Australia’s involvement. And the final stage, with Brazil and Australia swapping crates, was a beauty! As this video attests.

Silver Summit make the sort of hazy psych-folk that would suit a long, night-time drive through the badlands.
