I consider this man a modern master of applying paint onto an array of different canvases. Bryan Keith Lanier is inspired by dreams, mythology and pop-culture. Among my favourite pieces are his wonderfully well-painted studies of Greek and Roman stone sculptures, which he then throws into these dream-like settings.
Philadelphia-based artist Kyle Kogut’s mixed media drawings channel primal instincts in his layers of mark and mythos. Entangling meticulous line work with dense organic mark making, he entwines absurd figures and strange environments in seamless harmony.
Eclectix has just published their new issue, Iconic, full of religious related art and culture, along with a mesmerizing group exhibition of all things related to God and Goddesses, altar art, pagan, shrines and religious imagery. Some holy and some un-holy, crossing all spiritual boundaries with artistic fervor.
