Brooklyn illustrators Jordan Awan and Morgan Elliott have teamed up to create Springtime Studio. Their ‘official’ site is in the works, but they have a wonderful blog, In Bloom, up and going already. It’s already teaming with fun doodles and recent work.
Scott G. Brooks’ usage of naturalistic light juxtaposed with his exaggerated and distorted features make his straight portraits as surreal as his more elaborately composed fantastical pieces. Read more

I interviewed the mysterious Suitman some time ago for the Australian magazine, Riot. With Lungfish guitarist Asa Osborne’s latest project, Zomes, he continues to explore loops and cycles with endlessly repeating musical phrases, this time played on circuit-bent keyboards. The resulting tracks sound at times like medieval court music at others like the soundtrack to a Hal Hartley movie.

Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery. It’ll be well worth the trip out west of Sydney: the Australian, Japanese, American and European cast reads like a warriors of street art roundup and includes Mike Giant, Ed Templeton, Anthony Lister [artwork above], Ozzie Wright, and Jonathan Zawada.
