In my installation, Colossus, at Shay Arye Gallery, a video stream flows towards the giant Colossus (three metres tall) like ‘the river that issues from Eden to water the garden’ [Genesis 2:10]. However, unlike abundance in its enlightened or spiritual sense, the river flowing through the exhibition is a river of excess.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
