Most people would frown when the word Evisu comes out of someone’s mouth. Having built a brand in Japan on the back of quality production, Evisu in recent years has been pretty far off the mark. With over embellishments and the the excessive printing of their distinctive logo — the Kamone (seagull) — pretty much everywhere and anywhere on the jeans. Things are about to change down in Evisu world with the recent appointment of proven world class denim designer Scott Morrison and his loyal fellow denim head crew. Read more
Czech painter Victor Safonkin does some pretty impressive neo-classical/surrealist paintings that pay homage to all the masters while having a quirky style all their own. They are thankfully free of snarky pop-culture references and irony, which makes the images timeless and strikingly beautiful. Read more

The frontman for Sydney trailblazers, Paper Scissors, has just dropped his first solo EP under the alias of Pork Pies, and it’s an absolute beaut. Like the Paper Scissors’ more low-key numbers, there’s a real feeling of raw nostalgia running through the record. Jai Pyne’s distinctive vocals linger on your eardrums for a while after they’ve ceased, anchored down by a poignancy and sense of longing.

His signature patent-leather goods are the apple of my eyes and I think my MJ leather-quilted wallet, stam-bag and ballet mouse flats are being overlooked for Mark Jacob’s freshly launched red velvet trimmed pumps. The return of the Brionvega rr226
Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
