Matt Stone and Trey Parker are my heroes. They have proven time and time again their genius and I bow humbly before it and absorb it for all its worth. South Park has been around for twelve years now but is constantly fresh and pushes the limits of just about everything. It’s living proof of what can be accomplished with purity of vision and commitment.
Feeling a little grimy after a long night out? No problem; just jump in the shower and reach for another beer. Not the drinkable kind, of course – the sudsy kind. One of my favourite venues in New York is Brooklyn’s Union Hall, right around the corner from Tamari, a super sushi joint. Upstairs they have two massive fireplaces burning and a bocce ball court. Yup, bocce. Downstairs you feel like you’ve walked into the museum of natural history where you can see live bands on a stage reminiscent of grandma’s living room.
Whoever said Goth is dead failed to inform these people. This blog is vivid proof that Goth is very much alive — I mean, undead — and kicking, in style. In 2008, graphic designer Becky Edgington and illustrator Sarah Beetson created two limited-edition packs of playing cards featuring images from Beetson’s exhibition, 50 Bucks: Bring On The Sluts.
