The Descriptive Camera by Matt Richardson allows the user to take a picture and print out a text description of it within six minutes. What happens is that the image is sent to Amazon’s Mechanical Turk for a bit of human intervention (who interpret the scene to input a text description), before the information makes it back to the camera for printing. Suffice to say, this camera is a prototype for now. But were this ever to fall into our hands, we’ll be sure to have endless hours of joy testing human interpretation with abstract snaps.
