University of Gnawa is the title of the first album from Aziz Sahmaoui, a musician living and working in Paris. He mixes beats from Senegal and Morocco with Gnawa Trance, in the process creating something entirely new.

The Gnawa are a West African minority living in Morocco who are known for their unique type of music which is heavily influenced by the heritage of its people and their spiritual beliefs. The album itself will be released on April 29. It was produced by Martin Meissonnier, who has worked with illustrious artists such as Fela Kuti, King Sunny Ade and Papa Wemba.
