I recently had the pleasure of working with Manuel Vázquez when he photographed some pieces of my work.

His use of contrasting lights was one of the reasons the resulting photos were so enchanting, as he has a way of isolating objects and people: suspending them in darkness. His recent project, Traces, sees him explore his fascination with the idea of spectatorship. Using these high contrasts, he creates a visual code of ‘the ordinary’, highlighting the question of surveillance cameras.
