I love Geirrod Van Dyke’s work for his portrayal of our imperfections and vulnerabilities. The first thing that caught my eye were the bodies and the pools of light, but there is a sense of impending doom that creeps in and it feels like all the iPads in the worlds won’t do a thing to stop it. If you’re in New Orleans and you love barbeque, make sure to stop by The Joint in the Bywater neighborhood. Their brisket is outstanding, and for under $11 for a pound of the fatty, delicious beef and two sides, it’s a super good deal. Their ribs are also pretty good, but seriously, the brisket is the jam.

Conceptual artist Pascual Sisto stumbled across a Google Maps street view of Minnie Street in Fairbanks Alaska that was obscured by a plastic bag. He has the view preserved on his site in case Google decides to re-photograph the intersection.
