This awesome video for Major Lazer’s Hold The Line Friktailers Remix is a behind-the-scenes parody of a futuristic Cumbia TV program, where a producer calls pretty girls to dance on the show. Rounding off the set, made in CGI, are the paper costumes worn by the musicians and dancers, created by American artist Tranqui Yanqui. The video was directed by Javier Lourenco (former director at Amautalab) and produced by Flamboyant Paradise.

Super hyped producers, Diplo & Switch, have joined forces as Major Lazer to record a thumping album called Guns Don’t Kill People, Lazer’s Do. Already responsible for pioneering the hottest ghetto sounds — including tracks for M.I.A and Santigold — the pair’s genre-mashing debut will be released in June on New York label, Downtown, home to Santigold, Spank Rock, and Kid Sister. We have an MP3 from the album, Hold The Line, available for free download in our Music Download section, which is in the third column of the Lost At E Minor site.

In the beautiful work of New York City-based illustrator, designer and typographer, Mario Hugo, finely rendered faces and figures intermingle with various abstract patterns and shapes to create some seriously refined, surreal, and mysterious work that’s all that, and then some.
Sometimes people just take things a bit too far. That may be the case with David Schwen and his fabulously ridiculous What The Fork artwork. Eknife of that.
Micah P. Hinson is like every rustic, broken down, and pieced back together country great that’s ever been. Only hipper and slightly less sombre. This track, Diggin’ A Grave, is a button-up hoe down with a classic pop chorus and a jangly banjo accompaniment. Yup, some folk have all the fun.
PLUS, designed by Mount Fuji Architects Studio, is an amazing weekend house built on the Izu-san mountainside in Tokyo, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The building is largely made of marble, and is so clean and zen in its form as to be unnerving. Read more
If ever there was an opinion needed on the current Hip Hop scene, this is the one everyone should look to. Nine months ago Sydney couple Matt Cribb and Bree Carter decided they’d take their relationship to the next level. They started making beats. Ed Janssen is famed in Melbourne for his jewellery designs, sold through cult Morrissey-friendly label This Charming Man. ‘The Knuckle Sandwich’ charm necklace (two pieces of bread on either side of a tiny set of brass knuckles, as pictured above) exudes an oddly amusing menace. More recently ‘The Bear Trap’ has been dangling from every second neck, wiping out hope for Melbourne’s unsuspecting tiny forest animals. Janssen is about to launch a new range inspired by the iconography of various secret societies. Melburnians can check out their old and new favourites at the first This Charming Man exhibition launching this week at Alice Euphemia’s new store. Flex those tiny knuckles and watch those tiny feet.
