It was good to get an update from our friends over at More Than A Friend: ‘We’re on the cover of the new Under Pressure Magazine out of Montreal’. For Issue 15′s theme of celebs and media, they created an image using a photoshoot, cartoon characters, and an original pattern for the tablecloth. The final image was created with ink, acrylic (airbrush) and oil on canvas, then scanned in and the pattern inserted. [see also the magazine cover work of Alex Trochut]
Matt Ranzetta has created a ‘minimalist crossover poster series, remixing classic movies with Star Wars iconography’. We love it. Read more

The Danes are renowned for their considered and subtle design. However, in these times of change, they must feel they need something with this selection of a bridge building as the winner of a recent architectural competition in Denmark. The American architect Steven Holl designed this building with a pedestrian bridge that links two sides of the harbour in the distinctly low-rise Copenhagen. Read more

There’s something quite attractively kitsch about the Lucky Dragons’ latest release, Dream Island Laughing Language. It’s undoubtedly unusual, and not too friendly on the ears, but something warm and fuzzy keeps creeping out of the broken drum rhythms and looped vocals. It’s a mish-mash of jangly folk licks, Squarepusher-style drum ‘n bass with a few Coco Rosie-esque experimental sound effects thrown in: intriguing, original, and fairly hard to describe!

Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery.
