If you’re all a Twitter and Tweeting is your thing, then you might like to follow the new Lost At E Minor feed, which is an extension of the things we post about here. We get access to a lot of tips and information that we don’t always post about. But we will Twitter it. Yup, Tweets are fun and brevity is our friend. Everything about Kasia Domanska’s sun-drenched, surf-soaked paintings screams endless Summer. You can almost smell the sunscreen and chlorinated water wafting off of them.
This entertaining documentary follows a group of seemingly clichéd American teenagers in their last year of high school. Through a comprehensive recording of their lives it reminds us that, when examining anything in detail, there is no such thing as a cliché. There’s no shortage of bands channeling the surf rock and psych of the 1960s, but the Super Vacations’ sloppy vocals, drunken guitar riffs, and blown out production give them a knowing swagger that has as much in common with Beat Happening and Thee Headcoats as with the Pyramids. They seem to take pride in how bad they are live, but their debut record shows a lot of potential.
