London design shop Hidden Art is stocking these seriously appetizing Jeeves and Wooster top-hat lampshades, surely the final lick of paint that any stereotypical bachelor pad needs. At £415 a pop though, you’re probably better off combining a Moss Bros special with a touch of asbestos.
Demolition Derby, a print by Toronto photographer Finn O’Hara, reflects his fascination with environmental portraits, which play off the experiences and the personalities of those who live or inhabit the space itself. Our friends over at Feature Shoot have the print available for purchase for $50.
Not that we’re ones to poke fun (gettit?) at the Facebook supremo, but what the hell: M.I.C Gadget did it for us. Though I say, ‘did’. Their cheeky Poking Inventor toy — ‘the next greatest action figure for tech nerds’ — has just been quietly discontinued. We wonder if Zucks got the sooks? Read more
Seldom has black humour been done so well. On the surface, this film about the everyday lives of some unusually mundane characters, sounds extraordinarily boring. But it is instead a cutting comment on the absurdity and drudgery of everyday life. The characters try to break out or change their lives without success, and the results are bleak and hilarious. Here’s a sweet, angular house that simultaneously stands out and blends in with the old neighborhood in Tokyo where it is located. It’s designed by Jun Igarashi Architects, and was commissioned for a two-generation family as their private home. Read more
FFFFOUND! is a fun website that allows you to bookmark your favorite images from the Internet and share them with fellow users, sort of like a del.icio.us specifically for pictures. The site is still in private beta and not currently supported on Mac, but as its collection of images expands, it’s likely to become much more widely available.
Curxes (pronounced ‘curses’) are one of the most exciting new bands you’ll hear all year. Roberta Fidora and Macaulay Hopwood make music that will suck you in, invade your brain, and make you lose sense of time. Their music is somewhere between Depeche Mode and Crystal Castles.
Give your feet a treat and your neighbors a fright with this awesome pair of (super) creepy Zombie sandals. Oooohhh, spooky. Now, when’s Halloween again?
