London DJs The Nextmen have a cool new video out for their soon-to-be-released single Lion’s Den, which features the vocals of Ms. Dynamite and Andy Catois and is set to burn down dancefloors. We asked the guys to give us a rundown on the music they’re listening and they started with the Jack Penate track, Todays Tonight: ‘This is an extremely difficult one to explain. I guess it’s Afro-Folk-Pop, or something horrible like that. It’s a great track with a lovely atmosphere and a welcome return from Penate. This week, London-based DJ Damian Lazarus will be on the American side of the Atlantic playing his refined underground style in a few select cities. Involved with music at an early age, Lazarus began as a music reviewer, co-established the City Rockers label and eventually set up his own label, Crosstown Rebels. Read more

Oh man, my eyeballs feel like they’re dropping out of my head. This clip is pyschedelic in a way that platform shoes and polyester shoes could never be. The Faint are the shizz, and that’s the truth.

Knuckleheads is a pretty fun little side scrolling game where you’re a pair of Mexican-wrestler-looking things attached to each other by a chain. You swing each other around to move and hit floaty capsule things for points, and you can change the length of the chain to get over various obstacles, but watch out for the bats.
There’s not much one can say about an artist who has recorded more than 400 albums — even if you manage to listen to a large portion them, there’s a good chance you’ve missed something. Good thing, as far as I know, R. Stevie Moore is the only person who has released that many records (Daniel Johnston may come close), many of which were cassette-only or printed in limited numbers. Virtually unknown for decades, the obsessive music geekdom that has reached a fever pitch as this generation of fans has allowed Moore to keep his relentless flow of Zappa-esque weirdness, power-chord pop, tongue-in-cheek ballads, satirical new wave, and whatever else we’ve most certainly missed, gushing out into the universe.

Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
The Arquebus Clothing Brand, based in Brooklyn, is dedicated to designs that are self-expressive and meaningful through imagery or typography. They are bold, positive, inspirational, motivational, witty, philosophical and very wearable. We love these pieces inspired by nature, history, and everyday living.
