One of the most pronounced political topics in the past few months has been the economic crisis, and with it, the rising of a new capitalist criticism movement. A photo that highlights the subject perfectly is this shot taken by Gavin Hammond, a lomo photographer from London.

What’s most striking about this old-school analog photo of a recent scene between demonstrators and bankera is that the protestors in this photo look rather relaxed, whereas the guy ‘from the establishment’ appears to be most aggravated. One would expect it to be the other way around.

The Lomographic Society is a globally active organization dedicated to experimental and creative analogue snapshot photography. Boasting over one million members across the world, this dedicated society of “Lomographers” seeks to document life in a never-ending stream of images following the 10 Golden Rules of Lomography. The Lomographic Society has organized countless numbers of exhibitions, interactive projects, events, and live visuals all over the world with millions of lomographic snapshots.

The premise behind the Lomographic Amigos program is simple: The Lomographic Society International equips selected photographers, musicians and other creative types with a Diana F+ camera and some film and asks them to shoot the film for them, which is then displayed on their website. Former Lomo Amigos have included Radiohead, Modest Mouse, and David Arquette. These beautiful Lomo shots above and below were taken by Feature Shoot founder and editor, Alison Zavos, whose own photography has been featured in the American Photography annual.
