You know what, it’s hard for me to care about 99.9 percent of new music out there when there are still guys like Lee Fields putting out records. The funk and soul legend appeared on countless classic tracks throughout the ’70s, but never had a proper album of his own until this year, when Truth & Soul released My World.

The thing about successful memes is that they generally have no purpose other than to ridicule other people with cruel and derisive humour. Hmmm, probably why we all like them so much.

Oh, ok, so now I’ve seen it all. Or perhaps, in this case, I’m not seeing enough. Japanese game shows are so much fun. Seriously.

These fascinating mosaics of twenty-first century human habitation are proof that planned housing isn’t always dull and distasteful, for the bird’s-eye photographer at least. What may be endless rows of generic streets and blocks at ground level suddenly become giant patchwork quilts from the air, perhaps in a weird way proving that there is more to life than what meets the pedestrian’s eye. I really, really love this blog. Renee Ruin covers art, fashion, trends, with an emphasis on tattoo, fetish and grunge culture and she digs up the most amazing stuff. Ruin seems to like the same artists I do, including the seriously talented Brian M. Viveros.

His name echoes those of colonels and soldiers who fought in the American civil war. But far from that, William Fitzsimmons is actually an obscure songwriter from Jackson, Illinois. Read more
