Creative director JD Beebe does a number of random projects for fun. One of these is Instead of Awesome, which generates alternative words to replace ‘awesome’, the word that has infected everyday conversation between humans in the last few years. Beebe created the site with fellow writers Andrew Vuilleumier and Daniel Blaser. All may not be lost with the English language.

There are few more joys an artist has in life than coming across great resources for inspiration. Lately I’ve been studying typography, the meaning of words, and then something as simple as trying to find all the ’7 letter words’ I can so that it might fit into my latest musings. How fitting for me that there’s a whole website dedicated to words separated by how many letters each word makes up. Eat your heart out word dorks!
