Everyone who doesn’t live in London thinks London it’s a twenty-four hour city. Errr, it’s not. This can be frustrating, especially when you realise it’s the early hours of the morning and you want to carry on with the party. Look no further than Knight Hawk deliveries, at your service, coming to you with alcohol and food snacks from 10pm to 5am. What a wonderful idea, but there always has to be a downside. It only delivers to West and South London. Alas, we need another for the East and North.
In the words of its Dutch designer, Oooms, the Roadkill Carpet is a ‘a continuous struggle between attraction and repulsion. It’s a warm, soft, cuddly carpet that attracts you to take a nap on it. Michael Wolf, a German born American photographer, has lived in Hong Kong since 1995. His work explores the ways city-dwellers in China and Hong Kong shape their surroundings in an ‘organic metropolis’. His series — Architecture of Density — has some breathtaking images of Hong Kong’s apartment buildings.
No Age are doing something different to the mass of noise-laden, guitar-drum duos canvasing the lo-fi airwaves at the moment. I’m just not sure quite what. Their album, Nouns, is receiving top-rate reviews after sell-out crowds after screaming, obsessive fans. The music is simply massive: a vast landscape of heat haze, somehow both tranquil and manic, punctuated by singer Dean Sprouts backdrop of barely intelligible vocals and Randall’s distorted, archaic sounding drums.
Colombian illustrator Catalina Estrada, whose work has recently adorned Zune players, has designed a t shirt for charity project Comparte Corazon, which benefits a group of women artisans in Ayacucho, Peru.
