These intricate rings from Bonfire Folk were the first of Kim Wearnes’ jewellery line. Once known as Square Peg Round Hole, Wearnes collaborated with Melbourne-based fashion boutique, Fat, to establish the new brand: Bonfire Folk. With their detailed silhouettes inspired by nature (either a branch or swooping bird) these pieces of art are simply gorgeous.

I ran a series of 80s nights in New York last year — showing cult 80s movies and playing classic cuts from that era of kitsch and spice — purely so I could spin After The Fire’s Der Kommissar over and over. Yessir, this was the future of music in 1983. Pity no one was listening.
Artists Benedetto Bufalino and Benedict Deseille created this cute/kitsch Pac Man light installation for the recent Festival of Trees and Lights in Geneva, Switzerland.
Philly indie rock group Dr Dog recently compiled a crackling Secret Playlist for us which included props for songs by Cass McCombs, Thunderclap Newman, and the new time rag star, A.A Bundy, about whose track, Vice Rag, keyboardist Zach Miller wrote: ‘Good enough to be a classic old timey melody, except with more contemporary lyrical vices added. Black Eyed Dog is the project of Fabio Parrinello, a singer-songwriter from Varese, in northern Italy. His second album, Rhaianuledada (Songs To Sissy), brims with a brooding intensity, referencing the best British folk ballads of the past. Rhaianuledada (Songs To Sissy) was recorded at Vicolo Recording Studio in Sicily by Fabio Genco and was mastered by Luca Martegani in Varese. Listen to the track Honeysuckle Gal.
