The Fundraislinn exhibition is being held to raise funds for cancer treatments Aislinn Andrews, who’s been living with breast cancer for the last four years. The show, at Helen Gory Galerie features the work of around 100 artists from around the world, including Lily Piri, Ian Mutch [artwork below], Paul Meates, Yok [artwork below], Jaqui Stockdale, Rinzen, Gary Seaman [artwork above], Laith McGregor, Justin Williams and Abbey McCulloch. The exhibition is being held at Helen Gory Galerie in Melbourne on October 6 from 6-8.30, but there’s also a selection of works that can be bid on online. Read more

Having just finished up two solo shows, one in Melbourne at Lee Gallery, and the other at Palmer Projects in Sydney, Justin Williams’ solo show, Between a Ghost and a God, is now heading to Brisbane’s Nine Lives Gallery, with the opening night on August 21. Read more

These ‘manner posters’ appeared in Tokyo subways between 1976 and 1982, informing passengers on subway etiquette and good manners. We’re not sure why it didn’t catch on elsewhere — a colourful and entertaining poster versus a crackly intercom message from a bored driver? Hmm. I disagree, but the Tights are not pants manifesto is pretty funny. There’s some history and arguments on why tights shouldn’t be worn as pants, and a downloadable kit with printable flyers to spread the word. A commendable effort. Do you agree tights are not pants? I’m all for tights as pants, as long they’re, ahem, worn well.

The return of the Brionvega rr226
Italian brand Brionvega has resurrected the classy Radiofonografio piece first created in 1965. The updated version is just like the original turntable/radio unit, but also has a CD/DVD player.
Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery. It’ll be well worth the trip out west of Sydney: the Australian, Japanese, American and European cast reads like a warriors of street art roundup and includes Mike Giant, Ed Templeton, Anthony Lister [artwork above], Ozzie Wright, and Jonathan Zawada.
