Ok, so I’m wearing this sweater right now. How could I not. The damn thing shares the same name as me. Well, kinda. My parents threw in an ‘o’ into my name just to confuse the life out of people. But that’s a whole another story. The Zoltan is comfortable, soft, and colorful. It has ‘no fortune-telling capabilities’, but the ‘lightweight progressive color stripe scheme has an undeniably funky 70s vibe’. And it does. Yeeha. Now, where the hell is my bell bottoms and Grateful Dead vinyl?

With the recent financial qualms, a moment of reflection takes over as we begin to wonder how we all became so out of touch with reality. Somehow Luxury lost its way and mistook itself for decadence, joining the Bling-Bling parade and gravitating towards the streets of self-indulgence. Yet, the true essence of Luxury, as the divine Coco Chanel states ‘is not in the richness and ornateness, but in the absence of vulgarity’. Bravo, I say! Read more
Never mind assembly soldiers. London-based artist Wayne Chisnall turned himself into a ‘twelve-piece, pre-assembly, model kit’ for an upcoming exhibition at Scream Gallery.
Silence. In this world of near constant noise and motion, it really has become a sadly neglected and undervalued commodity. Illustrator and artist John Malloy has been working on a graphic novel called Channel One and, without wanting to sound too much like Paris Hilton, it’s looking pretty damn hot. Update! As of July 2009, John Malloy has aborted the graphic novel Channel One to focus more on other projects, including his autobiographical graphic novel, Queasy. Stay tuned for details. Read more
Listening to Mum’s fourth album — Go Go Smear the Poison Ivy — for the first time, I was awash with sentimentalism. Amidst carnival trumpets and burlesque beats, there’s a sense of this being a bohemian rhapsody. Perhaps it’s the mix of cello and brass with experimental electronica. Or maybe it’s just the soft vocals that cascade over playful, imaginative sounds. Whatever it is, it’s totally brilliant. [see also Sigur Ros' Heima]
