If you happen to find yourself in LA over the next few weeks, be sure to check out this amazing show at Gallery 1988, opening May 20. The show, aptly titled, Another Dimension, showcases 50 artists’ works based on the original Rod Serling TV masterpiece, The Twilight Zone. My piece, Like A Tiny Doll Cut From A Shell And Brought To Life, is based on the episode, Stopover In A Quiet Town, where a married couple wakes up in a dollhouse after a long night of partying, only to find they are captives, and new toys, for a giant alien little girl.

I love the finely rendered, graphic (yes, rendered and graphic) work of illustrator John Malloy. His charmingly quirky sensibility is the crowning element of his work.
Dan Seaton Brown must have a soft drink addiction. Seriously, he created this stunning portrait of Michael Jackson using only discarded aluminum cans. It was all for a good cause, of course: promoting the opening of the Michael Jackson movie screening at the Regent in Los Angeles. Wink wink. Read more
Lightpainting photography isn’t always this awesome. These snowman were done using a five minute exposure on a pitchblack night with a full moon. Each snowman was created using a flashlight to trace around the edges of a person.
Andrew Fagan, lead singer of The Mockers, the poppiest New Zealand band of the 80s, came around to my place once when I was an impressionable 10-year old with stars in my eyes and a head full of shiny, shiny melodies. Read more
