Dark Horse Comics in conjunction with computer accessory company GelaSkins is releasing an extensive line of laptop and iPod covers. While the Hellboy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Mr. Toast designs are sure to appeal to countless nerds out there, my favorite are the Kris Kuksi skins.
We’ve had tattooed pigs, tattooed hipsters (is there a difference? wink wink), and now tattooed babies. Well, vinyl babies, anyway. This artwork by Jason Clay Lewis is made from vinyl rubber, mohair, oil paint, plaster, and aluminum armature. Read more

I don’t get Flight of The Concords. I just don’t find it funny. I also don’t get most comedy these days. It’s so derivative and clichéd. Everyone wants the same laughs. I like comedy that pushes the boundaries in strange ways. Fonejack is one underground unit that have had me rolling around on the floor with their real life skits. Read more
If words like twentieth century, architecture, salvage, furniture and hodgepodge turn you on, then Retrouvius will enter into The Hall of Fame when it comes to showing off your new digs. I am quite partial to the Central Line Tube Table, being that I take the line everyday. ’Dining on’ instead of ‘schlepping in’ could expand relations with the city. Beijing-based band Hanggai write original songs in the traditional folk styles of their Mongolian ancestors — throat-singing, horsehair fiddles, lutes — spearheading an Asian version of the old-time revival. Though it’s only through the digital age that the rest of the world can access this beautiful music, it makes you want to slow down and reflect on what we’ve lost as a species. This stuff makes every flavor of the month indie band seem vapid and meaningless.
The mesh of fashion and illustration continues unabated, as reflected in the mind-blowing designs that make up the Belle Sauvage label. Read more

Now this is fun. This 3D watch dial actually jumps to life. The dial is a modern version of the 19th century art form of lithophanes: carved porcelain sheets that, when lit, deliver astoundingly detailed images. When the pusher is activated, the dial springs to life in 3D, with an LED light and afterglow effect. Read more
