I’m an Indonesian born, Connecticut-based artist. I paint my own world; a world where my personal feelings from beautiful moments give form to areas of the world itself. Those moments, buried inside me, become scattered over time as I continue my journey. Painting is the only way for me to preserve them so I can always feel connected to myself, undisturbed from the echoes of the external world while continuing my ongoing journey toward the future.
I love Indonesian artist I Wayan Sudarsana Yansen’s statement on the Saatchi website, so I’ll just quote it here: ‘I follow the little voice from my heart as i follow in ceremonial Bali. I’m travelling from my heart in different era’.
One of my favorite Indonesian artists is Eko Nugroho. Born in Jogjakarta in 1977, Eko is one of the best known Indonesian artists in the field of murals, paintings, comics, drawings, video projections, animations, and embroideries.
