Menagerie is an ongoing series of compilations with books of illustrations. Issue three is an LP and full colour book, in a limited edition of 500 copies. Side A of the vinyl sees illustrators react to music and side B sees musicians reacting to artwork. The illustrators are Jim Stoten, Jake Blanchard, Simon Fowler and Adrianne Neal. The musicians are Ben Nash, Twinsistermoon, Isengrind and C Joynes.

Eamonn Donnelly recently completed a series for a new EP for the Delaware-based rock outfit, Villains Like You. The music and artwork are being released in four parts, which can all be downloaded for free.

Art director and designer from Bostin, Nicole Martinez, has created these love-filled geeky illustrations to express love in nerd’s style.

Daniel Zender is a freelance illustrator, designer, and printmaker living and working in Springfield, MO. His illustration work has been published by a number of magazines and books, including work in Communication Arts, HOW, 3×3, CMYK, and GoFish. Additionally, his poster work has been exhibited in international juried shows in Russia, Mexico, UK, France, Iran, and Chicago, where he received a bronze medal for his work with hand printed materials.

Itdrewitself recently visited with illustrator, musican and all-round superhuman creative Pete Fowler at his studio near Brick Lane in London. A few hours spent chatting with Fowler and photographing his work space left the impression that there’s not much that Fowler wont try. Juggling various illustration, sculpture, animation and video projects as well as finding time for his ‘Psychedelic Yacht Rock’ band Seahawks, Fowler rarely rests on his laurels, and it has to be said that the world is definitely a better place for it.

Salsa Invertebraxa, a truly epic graphic novel from artist/writer Mozchops , is finally published. It charts the odyssey of two invertebrate companions as they journey through a vibrant world of imaginary insects and flora. After an incubation of fifteen years, Mozchops has exquisitely crafted 200 paintings to tell this story of a beautiful, dangerous and mysterious world.

I really like the illustrator Tania Willis’ work and now she’s teamed up with Mio Debnam to produce these kid’s guide books. Avoiding the trap of thinking parents know best, they’ve asked kids in the various locations what their favourite days out, experiences, food, and so on are. So far they’ve covered Bali, Sydney, Hong Kong, Phuket, London and New York. My lad gives it 5 stars after a recent trip to Bali.

Majel van der Meulen is Dutch creative based in Amsterdam. She made a series of illustrations for a publication about research on co-creation between public prosecutors and citizens using traditional Dutch colors and symbols of lady justice.

The feeling inspired by Jared Andrew Schorr’s playful and charming paper cuts? Happiness. It’s simply impossible to look at his work and not smile, unless I am instead gape-jawed in awe at the patience required to create work of such detail.

Children’s author and illustrator Erik P. Kraft has been doing a drawing a day and writing a haiku and posting them to his Tumblr all this year.

The Juvenilia is an art and literature blog that aims to capture, in their words, ‘the strange beauty that forms when worldly perspectives come together’. Almost every contributor is from a different country, with content that ranges from stunning nature photography and cheerfully bizarre artwork, to philosophical musings and trilingual poetry.

I’d like to think that I’ve grown out of wetting myself in excitement, but Lewis Campbell’s beautiful and nihilistic Lost Monkey artwork caught me by surprise. Campbell’s ravens (cool, not scary), small little dead beings, whimsical girls, and fantastical creatures remind you of the worlds you dreamt about as a child.

Natalia Nazimek (NTHLEE) is Polish illustrator, living and studying in the UK. She started out learning with graphic software at home through trial and error and now she work on various art projects for international brands, magazines and advertising agencies.

I visited the Occupy Wall Street protesters yesterday at Liberty Plaza Park and drew every placard I could find on display. Here are the results: high resolution A2 posters for free use. Just download and print in black and white variants.

I’ve been fascinated with the Occupy Wall Street protests as they started upon my arrival in New York. So I was able to witness the graffiti advertising and the movement around the subway carriages and its progress over the weeks up until the marches with the Unions.

However, as a visitor, I’ve felt quite distanced from it. So I went down today to talk to some of the protesters and see for myself what was going on. It’s a strange part of town to be giving talks as people rush back and forth on the street and I wondered how much of what they were trying to communicate reached people. These placards are their own headlines and often they’re just as ambiguous, funny and deliberately provocative. Hopefully this collage gives some sense of the atmosphere and the intentions on Wall Street at a single moment in time.

After spending his early years in Bosnia, designer and illustrator Boris Pelcer emigrated to the Midwest with his family, and has been creating wonderful things ever since.

Boris’ work is immediately eye catching, with it’s saturated colors and masterful technical skill, but his thoughtful exploration of deep, personal themes is engrossing and stays with the viewer. His range of work is also remarkable: full color illustrations with gorgeous hand-painted figures, elaborate typography experiments, sleek logo designs. Expect great things from this guy.

Illustrator Tom Buch started out his career as an illustrator specialising in digital painting. Nowadays, he works on everything from impressive 3D models in Z-brush and Cinema 4D, to fantastic moving image projects for Topshop.

Combining a vibrant kaleidoscope design with a humble sketch in the foreground is one of Soleil Iganacio’s signature styles. It’s no wonder the Philippines-based illustrator and designer has created several album artworks and editorial illustrations for STATUS magazine.

I  have been besotted with Daniella Germain ever since I laid eyes on her Mexican cookbook, My  Abuela’s Table. Subsequently, I started stalking her blog, I bought a pair of Camper boots and now I am broke, to swoon over more of her pared back, whimsical illustrations (with the odd recipe thrown in). Los Angeles-based Taiwanese artist Sean Chao creates curious and imaginative creatures in a world filled with wonder. Each mixed-media piece combines sculpture and illustration to capture an odd moment frozen in time, and each tells a story of its own, some strangely nostalgic, some delightfully whimsical.
