Brooklyn-band Hypernova’s new music video was shot and directed by Common Machine’s Director of Photography, Richard Patterson, on Profoto’s spanking new, lighting packs, enabling the video to be shot on a stills camera. There are actually more than 16,000 stills that make up the video, the first time it’s ever been done like this.

 

Everybody seems to have their own remedy for it: aspirin, coffee, soda water, hair of the dog. But now a man named Milton Crawford (a Brit, naturally) has written an actual manual for how to get rid of that morning-after ick: The Hungover Cookbook. Read more

His drawings are so realistic that, after first thinking it was photography, you then search for a ‘zoom button’ to get the most details you can. Then, slowly, the drawings seem to be moving, they appear to be alive, something is coming, and the story, after a minute, is already all around you. Read more

Wow! So whilst Australia is quickly becoming known for its Ed Banger-styled modular stream of music, there is a little known Brisbane artist called Yeo Choong who is just insanely talented. His music is full of summer fun and Kanye West-Phoenix influences. Take my word on it, this is going to be Australia’s next answer to Sam Sparro, Mika or even Jamie Lidel, and he is only 21 years-old.

Disorder Disorder in Sydney

Pitched as ‘Ulterior Motives in Contemporary Art’, Disorder Disorder is running until November 14 at Penrith Regional Gallery.
