Dr. Seuss wrote The Cat in the Hat and many other books based on the iconic character. That we know. But we bet you didn’t know that he had an equally whimsical trove of hats himself. The avid headgear collector apparently threw dinner parties and made it a tradition for guests to turn up in hats. Among his hat conquests are a flashy carnival-like feathered headband, a faux fur cap, a Viking helmet and of course the striped red and white tall hat as seen on the Cat in the Hat in his books. We’d accept a dinner invitation from Dr Seuss in a heartbeat.

We already had our eye on him four years ago. Now, with abstract sculpture pioneer Barbara Hepworth as his muse for his S/S 13 collection, London-based fashion designer Peter Jensen somehow manages to make sharp-looking visor hats with holes in them that hardly look daft at all. In fact, they have a bit of the samurai aesthetics in them. The world must look like a photoframe with one of these hats on. And holey chic, these shoes.
