Jacob Ring is a photographer from Sydney whose work at one level seems instantly familiar, faithfully recording ordinary objects and commonplace angles. But they are also filled with strangeness; warped inundations of colour, unnatural meetings between pigments. Perhaps their oddities are something to do with his synesthesia, a sensory condition Ring has had since birth, which ignites a constant stream of sounds and visuals in his head.
