I love the male-female Lab Partners art and design team out of San Francisco. I have two of their pieces at home, which I purchased from the Outre Gallery in Melbourne. They are responsible for some of the most heart-warming, 50s styled, Gocco prints I’ve seen. Read more

During my recent time in New Orleans, I got to see in person the amazing piece by public installation artist Candy Chang called Before I Die, installed on the side of an abandoned house in the Marigny neighborhood. It invites passers by to fill in the blanks with what they’d like to do before they die. One of them read “live in New Orleans,” which I can definitely relate to. Read more

Though most people in the West think of mahjong as a mysterious game old Chinese people play, it’s actually gets quite rowdy when people get together to play it. Rowdy is certainly a good adjective for Mahjongg, the exquisitely danceable electro-whatever outfit from Chicago who draw as much from Afrobeat as they do vocoder-laden sleaze rock from the 70s.
