Remember those sweet books your parents used to read you before bed? One fish, two fish; Where the wild things are; Oh, the places you’ll go – all those dream-like titles that gave you the warm and fuzzies. And then remember when you reached your twenties? Well, College Humor staffer Will Stephen compiled these brilliant illustrations by Nathan Yaffe, retitling our most beloved books. Check them out and try your hardest not to relate to these new titles, but chances are you will!
Started by comedian Dan Wilbur, the Better Book Titles project is all about giving texts and books the names they deserve. Which is why Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights has an alternative title like Damn, This Servant Has a Good Memory; and Haruki Murakami’s The Wind-up Bird Chronicle, the rather epic Dude, Where’s My Cat?
Our friends at College Humour have taken a decidedly literary tack with their latest spoof on newly minted classic book titles. We can’t wait for the next installment: The Girl Who Mistook Herself For a Hat.
