Evolution. Where would we be without it? I mean seriously. Probably still hunting for flesh amongst the wreckage of a giant Mammoth. We want to join in on the fun, so we’re evolving too with the addition of a few new site features to help you get more bang for your time. First up, we have a new DRM free music download section in the third column of the site where we post daily MP3s for free download that have been cleared and provided to us by the record labels and band management companies that we work with. There’s a stack of cool tunes there, included amongst them new releases by Alela Diane, Bon Iver, Fujiya & Miyagi, and Jamie Lidell. We update this section regularly, so keep checking in and fattening up your music collection in the process. You can now also scroll through all posts in each category simply by clicking on the orange arrow in the top right-hand corner of the images. So if you click on the arrow on this post, for instance, you’ll be able to scroll through all the websites that we’ve covered on the site. And so on across all the categories on the homepage. This is an easy way for you to navigate through our archives. While you’re at it, check out our forum [under the heading Discuss], which is open for chit-chat amongt Lost At E Minor readers, and our Shop, where you can make all your Christmas purchases. Aw, c’mon! We know your mum secretly wants that Young Lovers t-shirt.

Oh, ok, so now I’ve seen it all. Or perhaps, in this case, I’m not seeing enough. Japanese game shows are so much fun. Seriously.
Instead of demolishing the old Paddington Reservoir, architects TZG have incorporated into the design a new outdoor public garden in Paddington, Sydney. The results are stunning, with the nineteenth century structures providing an amazing starting point. Looking less like a garden and more like an overgrown ancient city, with the remnants of historic walls and vaults, this new public space is well worth frequent visits.
Google recently demonstrated their ability to predict flu outbreaks across America weeks in advance of the outbreaks themselves. It would seem that they are more than just a pretty search engine. And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve now teamed up with Life Magazine, what was the cornerstone of photojournalism for the Twentieth Century, to digitize 95 per cent of their image bank that never saw the light of day. Now millions of photos stretching from the 1750s to the present day are available on Google Images at the click of a button. Read more
Given the amount of talent he has, it’s a mystery why German producer Pantha Du Prince not received more attention than he has. His minimal tech soundscapes are surprisingly melodic and moody, as reflected on his epic track, Asha, as good a starting point to the music of this German electro whiz as any.
I recently photographed the launch party for Mutewatch, a really cool new watch that works just by swiping it just like an iPhone. Very cool. Nice party as well.

Baltimore Mural by Josh Van Horne
My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
Using Kyoko Hashimoto’s popular design, these acrylic earrings are made with unique hand formed sterling silver sleepers that make them light enough for everyday wear. Part of Kyoko’s collection, I Blame the Uni, (pronounced ‘oo-nee’, the Japanese name for sea urchin) and inspired by her experiences in the underground club scene of Tokyo. Read more
