We’re loving the new Flip Mino, the latest mini-device that gives you the ability to shoot and share anything that catches your eye, then connect it directly to your TV or computer and either edit the life out of the footage or watch it and guffaw at your own twisted directorial genius. Ha! Not surprisingly, the built-in FlipShare software is all about sharing, so you can blast out short and long format HD video as a link rather than an attachment. Now, get to work on that Blairwitch sequel sequel.
I wonder what my generation of counter-culturalists has to offer in the way of personalities like Lou Beach, a former stunt pilot born in Germany to Polish parents, who made his name creating collage illustrations in the 70s and 80s for people such as Weird Al Yankovic and the Flying Burrito Brothers. Oh man, what I wouldn’t give to be able to sing like Neil Finn. His voice rasps with all the sincerity and integrity of a thousand heartfelt melodies. This little Greenwich Village shop is a blast from the past for me. From 1985 to 1993, I lived in West London and have always missed British candy and special foods. Low and behold, Myers of Keswick has it all. Weetabix cereal, Quality Street candy, Scotch Eggs, PG Tips tea! It’s absolutely amazing. But it’s not all just imports, they make fresh food everyday that you wouldn’t find anywhere else.
An anonymous public school teacher known as Mrs. Q, following Morgan Spurlock’s lead, decided to eat every school lunch served to her for the duration of 2010. At the risk of her job, she documents her experience on her blog, which features photographs of the atrocious, shrink-wrapped, processed poison that she and her students are forced to choke down every school day.
I’m sitting here listening to this Switch Remix of the Jacknife Lee track Making Me Money with a mind that’s buzzing from an extra strong cup of Colombian coffee and a foot that’s tapping so fast the damn thing may well drop off. Oh boy, just try getting this cracking beat out of your head.
