Lovers of Flashguns note that there’s an acoustic video of the trio’s latest demo No Games Just Sport, with Samuel and Olly’s raw playing and vocals pure bliss. As much as I wish these guys would visit Down Under (or at least tour outside of Europe), I respect the band’s global obscurity. Their sound reminds me that intelligent, melodic music still inhabits our world today.

Flashguns are a killer British trio who just survived a break-up following the recent departure of keyboard player, Oliver Wright. I’m delighted the guys chose to run strong as a three-piece and recorded some acoustic sessions on the road while supporting Bombay Bicycle Club’s UK tour. Before you watch Samuel Johnston’s interesting van acoustic version of their single, I Don’t Not Love You, I suggest you listen to the studio version and Lagos Boys Choir remix [below] to get a feel for the track’s full glory.

Blood is the New Black’s line of t-shirts boast the line’s beautifully architectured promise of the shirts being pieces of art on their own. With an impressive line-up of artists contributing to the design, there is a variety of concepts in play: from loud abstracts to lomo film-esque photographs.

Having originally sprung from the Shaky Isles (otherwise known as New Zealand), I can appreciate the humour in the New Zealand cartoon series, Bro Town, the first homegrown animated series to screen during local prime time. It’s simply brilliant, a real play on the ‘thuck’ accent and small town ways of our Kiwi brethren.
Lookie here! A bike path in Seoul that plays music as people ride over it. The path is made of planks of wood of varying lengths that trigger little hammers when people ride over them, creating little percussive notes. Happy fun place yay!
