A few years back, I bought the Jodorowsky box set, which included the director’s cut/narration of The Holy Mountain. I was blown away by the imagery and existential symbolism. The Holy Mountain is definitely one of those epic films you need to watch a few times to truly soak in every detail. I will be eternally inspired by this magical film, which makes you feel a blend of horror, introspection, and enlightenment.

While working on my Skater photography project, I was excited to meet so many female skaters of all ages sharing the same obsession as the guys in a sport which is still very male dominated when it comes to funding and sponsorship. Amelia Brodka, a Polish born documentary filmmaker, highlights this imbalance in her latest work, Underexposed. If the trailer is anything to go by, this will be a well thought-out and balanced view of the present issues faced by many talented female skaters looking for sponsorship and recognition in their field.

Seattle 100: Portrait of a City is in itself a humane blueprint to what is a rustling architecture. With the city as the basic foundation, 100 is the three-years long effort by renowned photographer, filmmaker and Seattle native, Chase Jarvis.

The book features a collection of black-and-white portraits and biographies of individuals harboring a place in Seattle, each defining the city’s different aspects from DJs, writers, musicians, artists, scientists, restaurateurs, entrepreneurs and more.
