Nothing I say can do this man justice. One literally has to see his work to experience its true awesomeness. Created entirely in Photoshop, Rapoza’s digital illustrations portray creatures of all shapes and sizes, lit so amazingly that you are almost convinced that they are going to climb out the screen, punch you in the stomach, and rip your guts out. His work is truly inspirational.
Drawing from anime and fantasy art from the past half-century of graphic design and illustration, Jason Chan’s images appeal to the role-playing geek in us all. Chan renders beautiful pixie women and expressive children with bright eyes and remarkable dragon-riding abilities — their zombie-slaying skills ain’t too shabby either.
Steven Stahlberg sets himself apart from other fanboy fantasy artists by being able to actually convey mood rather powerfully. Yes, many of his Photoshop paintings feature scantily clad cyborg women and nubile nymphs battling dragons, but at his best, he’s almost a post-apocalyptic Norman Rockwell.
