The paintings of French illustrator Emmanuelle Pioli are full of delicate clouds, princesses, flowers and birds, all glowing brightly from within. There is certainly a magical quality to her paintings which ought to appeal to any girl who has ever cherished a unicorn or dancing ballerina jewelry box.
These are examples of Arizona-based photographic artist, William LeGoullon’s micro-graph images. Created using a microscope mounted camera, this on-going series observes liquids in their solid form, and includes the most commonly consumed beverages in the world (other than H20). Vintage Kids Books My Kid Loves is a great resource for people looking for gift ideas or simply for those who dig the artwork in out-of-print and esoteric children’s books from years past. The author provides reviews from the perspective of a parent, not merely a hobbyist.
Strip away the cookie monster vocals and downtuned, distorted guitars, it’s hard to imagine death metal still reading as death metal, but 8-bit duo Dr. Zilog manage to do just that. The Floridian sound-card tweakers make some pretty amazing original, NES tunes that are strangely compelling, catchy, and actually quite metal.
These double triangle earrings made with bamboo are not only bio-degradable, but are also super lightweight and made with a rapidly renewable resource. The 14k gold-filed hardware is designed, made, and packaged in the San Francisco Bay Area.

My friend Josh Van Horne, a local Baltimore artist, did this amazing mural in our neighborhood that depicts the history of this warehouse-laden area.
