Combining my studies in Graphic Design and traditional drawing, I made the natural progression to illustration in 2009. Inspired by artists such as Sam Weber, Jeremy Fish, the Hanuka brothers, Edward Kinsella, and Ian Francis, my work falls somewhere between semi-realism and comic. I communicate ideas through a mash up of watercolour, vector, and graphite.
FOR CREATIVE INSPIRATION
In partnership with our friends at Optus, we present the third in a three part Lost At E Minor video series that puts the spotlight on some young, handpicked Australian creatives, doing inspirational things within their chosen fields. Episode Three features 16-year old Melbourne-based producer, Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), who has racked up thousands of plays over the past year or so via a number of well-blogged remixes ranging from City Calm Down and The Townhouses to bootlegs of The xx and Bon Iver.
