Martha Boxley’s editorial shoot called Beautifully Damned for Wonderland Magazine reminds me of the lovely Lisbon sisters of Sofia Coppola’s The Virgin Suicides. Maize-haired girls with hollow, soulful stares, donned in angelic dresses, with their limbs romancing the soft meadow. It’s just dreamy!
Bloggity, bloggity, photography blogs. They seem a dime a dozen these days. There are more than a few jaded photography folks taking notice and starting to give some credit to this format that’s shaping the future of the medium. Urbanautica steps up the platform with several editorials including MetaData, which explores contemporary trends in education, Undercover, as photography for the ears, and Translations, as a poetic dialogue relating to the totality of art and life. They also publish books, exhibit photographs and are generating quite a following.
A beautiful dreamer, a mystic who creates dreams out of reality, and a transporter of worlds; all from behind the lens and through those eyes. Magic is real. Photographer Bhumika Bhatia will make you believe it is.
