New York illustrator Frank Stockton is one of those artists who, when you stumble across his work, you can’t help but stop and marvel (and on occasion, tear the page right and tack it on the wall). Stockton’s incredible draughtsmanship, coupled with a powerful knack for innovative, graphic storytelling, has resulted in an impressive body of work. Having already been published in magazines such as Esquire, The New Yorker, GQ and Penthouse, just to name a few, Stockton is already making a big name for himself within the industry. Nestled in the hills of Napa Valley, Bardessono is the newest creation of eco-developer Phil Sherburne and architect Ron Mitchell. Completed just seven weeks ago, the luxurious inn and spa is currently pursuing Leed certification and includes rammed earth walls, water treatment systems, and solar and geothermal energy systems. The buildings were built to pay homage to the land, and include recycled cypress wood for the windows, doors, and floors. Read more

Where would we be without synths and drum machines? Probably still listening to Grateful Dead jams in the alleyways of Height-Asbury. Done well, the remix is a wonderful thing. Case in point is Royksopp’s rendering of the Kings of Convenience track I Don’t Know What I Can Save You From. And then there’s Riton’s version of the Mystery Jets song, The Boy Who Ran Away. A White Lines for the 21st Century? I think so.
