WE'RE THINKING

Last Fall, I moved to a flat with a balcony and this Spring I really fell in love with ‘gardening‘. Things taste better and look better when you grow your own! 50 years from now, when we’ve ruined nature, sucked all nutrients from the soil, and the cities look like a Mad Max movie, we are bound to use our windows as replacements for gardens, fields and forests.

Artist David Shrigley’s animated music video for Blur is so simple, so sweet, so perfect. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched it, yet it still makes me cry every time.

WE'RE TRAVELLING TO

My town is one of foghorns at five am, the smell of salty air and the sound of seagulls, Peets coffee, steep hills and die hard fans and loyalists. For those of us who have been here in San Francisco for some time now, we know all the secret gems of this small city — from Clarion Alley, to Army Street, from Irving to Broadway. Read more

Why should the devil have all the good music? Finland’s Holy Blood is a great folk-black metal band by any standard, but its horn-raising tunes are all for the glory of the Good Lord rather than Satan or Odin. What would Jesus do? According to Holy Blood, he’d ride through the forests drinking mead and slaying non-believers.
