Wow, wow, wow. This video for the Woolfy single, Looking Glass, is brilliantly extravagant, tapping into the ample talents of Director of Photography, Collin LaFleche, and Art Director, Myriam Hater.

The new Shit Robot song, Take ‘Em Up, is even more blissful with its accompanying trippy video. Taken from the DFA album, From The Cradle To The Rave, it features singer Nancy Whang (LCD Soundsystem, Juan McLean, Soulwax). Fingers crossed for a solo album by her one day soon.

In attempts to dance about Shellshag’s sound, they’ve been described as being an amalgam of The Breeders, Sonic Youth, The Ramones, DFA, David Byrne, Guided By Voices, Moldy Peaches and early Superchunk — and, because they’re a male guitarist/female drummer duo, those touch points (Jack and Meg, Matt and Kim, Juicifer) get tossed around like so much confetti, too. This is their new single, Resiliant Bastard, and it’s damn fine. Now, where are those dancin’ shoes?

I’ve heard whispers that Kings Of Convenience, the Norwegian duo of folkloric proportions, have split. I hope they’re unfounded, but like all good rumours, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. Perhaps Erland Oye is enjoying the unlimited scope of his solo career too much? And then there’s his new submorphic guitar pop project, The Whitest Boy Alive, to keep him occupied. The whitest boy alive? Indeed he is. But damn the guy can sing.

Ring out the bad, and ring in the good, Yessir, these Happy Day and Crappy Day rings are just that: a jolt of brutal realism cloaked in saccharine sweet colourings.
