We’re totally diggin’ Denimu’s latest work. Ok, that’s what I’d want to read, but can’t say so myself. So if you like the work above, check out some of my other pieces at my website, or if you’re in London, come and see my latest show, which opens tonight and where the city is turned from grey to blue at the Catto Gallery.
This is the sound of just one multi-talented Brooklyn-based guy. You can hear hard-hitting drums, melodic guitar strains, soaring trumping notes, moving bass and dabbles of synth on Benjamin Wentworth’s first EP, Some Rumors are True. I love to listen while working. It works with no vocals, but The Heavy Empty is looking for a pair of windpipes. Is that you? Watch out to see what happens in the future. There may be even collaboration with Denimu.
Denimu uses the denim from old pairs of jeans to express his thoughts and create images of the world. Of his art, he says: ‘Denim is ubiquitous, transcending borders, race, age, social class and time. It’s my own fluent language’.
