WE'RE SUPPORTING

William Cotton’s almost photorealistic landscapes composed of gingerbread houses, candy canes, and clouds of whipped cream and cotton candy are often populated by retro-looking nudes, commenting on the fetishization of the female form. His most compelling pieces, however, have no figures at all, such as FOG, which depicts a gingerbread house veiled by a haunting, almost terrifying mist.

WE'RE THINKING

WE'RE TRAVELLING TO

Located on West Houston, Alphaville is my favorite gift store in Manhattan. It offers a great selection of vintage objects, from Nixon’s campaign buttons, to Sesame Street 80s mobiles, 50s greeting cards and the original Mr. Potato Head and his friends. It’s one of those places I walk into just to look but always end up buying something.

Every now and then you encounter a band whose sound cannot be confined to CD, Vinyl or a MySpace Music Player; a sound so incredible that it must be experienced first hand, in the flesh, where it can do some well-deserved damage to your eardrums. Sydney’s Dead Farmers are one of these bands. Read more

WE'RE WEARING

Who says telling the time should be an easy task? Pleasing to the eye, not so much on the brain, Nooka watches are arguably more concerned about aesthetics than it is about function. Created by artist and designer, Matthew Waldman, its bar graph-like function lets wearers see, rather intuitively and visually, that time has passed by. We love it, but good luck trying to work out exactly how much time has gone by.
