David Paleo takes Spumco-style grossness to another level rendering feverishly delirious, horrifying drawings of twisted, mangled, demented cartoon characters from the pit of Sponge Bob’s worst nightmare.
There’s such a heartfelt, spontaneous quality to the work of UK artist Cornelia O’Donovan. Everything she creates is so wonderfully raw and honest that just looking at her work, you get the feeling that she is an old friend you’ve known intimately for years. I’m literally swooning over everything on her website, from the stuffed dogs and cats, to her silkscreens, to her lovely collages. Read more
Only in New York! I encountered this guy, and his friendly, well-balanced cat Nicholas, yesterday at the intersection of Houston and Broadway where he was only too happy to pose for a photo in exchange for a crisp dollar bill. Wonder if Nicholas got to spend any of it?
This awesome promo video for the Lost At E Minor site was created by our friends over at New York-based design studio, Lifelongfriendshipsociety. It’s all about looking into a black mirror and seeing the creative energy burst back out at you. We think it’s very cool and the first in what we hope will be a series of short videos exploring what it really means to be lost at e minor. Hit us up if you’d like to have a go at creating one.
On my recent visit to Barcelona, my love for Animal Farm led me to the Plaça de Geroge Orwell. There I discovered Oviso. The tiny café features hand painted walls and low wooden benches, where inhabitants enjoy great coffee for €1 and discuss music, beer, photography and the hordes of tourists that bustle just beyond the quiet square.
Michael Wolf, a German born American photographer, has lived in Hong Kong since 1995. His work explores the ways city-dwellers in China and Hong Kong shape their surroundings in an ‘organic metropolis’. His series — Architecture of Density — has some breathtaking images of Hong Kong’s apartment buildings.
Dirty, sludgy, d-beat-loving hardcore band Trap Them from Salem, New Hampshire are about to release their third full-length, Darker Handcraft, on Prosthetic Records. I for one am super excited.

I’ve always been an avid follower of the Comfort Station brand in Cheshire St, London, so I decided to pop in on Sunday to have a look at their new collection. Illustrator, sculptor, and mixed media artist Joseph Franz creates stunning and unexpected pieces centered on personal nostalgia and animals. His work is ever-changing, but the wildlife and reminiscent narrative seem to be ever-present. Read more
