Shot in Sydney in this dark, suspenseful short a man goes to work on the same road and does the same things every day. Once he is forced by circumstance to take a different route. This route leads him to a house. Something makes him to go in. Inside he is going on an increddible journey, which might be real or not. In the end he must decide what it was, and if things are going to stay the same.

Mulholland Drive is the only David Lynch movie I understand. I just like the craziness of it all. Is she dead, is it a dream, who’s dead, maybe everything’s a dream. That’s exactly how I like it to be. Read more

Independent cinema’s king of quirky gives his own satirical take on how things have been going in the US recently. As you might expect, it’s just a little bit odd.

Digging this new direction that David Lynch is taking into electronic music, something totally different from the iconic filmmaker. Check out the video for Good Day Today, directed by Arnold de Parscau.

That brilliantly creepy director David Lynch just got more (and more) creepy. He has a coffee line. And he created this extraordinary bizarre video to promote it. Watch aghast. Rub your eyes. Then run for the hills.

Julee Cruise, she of the enchanting, ethereal vocal cords, she of the David Lynch collaborations [listen below], she of the B-52s (she was the replacement singer for Cindy Wilson for several years), has a new album out. Cruise’s life story is full of interesting facts and exciting acquaintances, one of whom is Ukrainian-born Deee-lite member, Supa DJ Dmitry, with whom she just released My Secret Life, a new album on Purley Sounds. Ethereal, sultry, dark, elegant.

I’ve been digging the lonely, dissonant, surf-pop noise wafting out of Jason Boyer’s basement in the form of Nerve City, his solo, home-recording project. It sounds like what should be playing out of a tinny car radio in a David Lynch-inspired nightmare.

It’s hard to pin down The Psychic Paramounts. The New York band sounds a bit like My Bloody Valentine at times, and nightmarish David Lynch soundtracks at others, layering folk, rock, and electronic elements to create a moody, auditory haze.

Written and directed by Jennifer Lynch, daughter of David Lynch, who went into hiding after writing and directing Boxing Helena, which received a toweling from the critics. Surveillance is her first film since — a horror-thriller that has a more solid thread than Lynch senior’s latest offerings. It also features fine performances, great twists and plenty of psychotic characters. Since seeing it a film festival, I haven’t heard much about this movie, but it’s packed with interesting ideas and subtle, tense scenes. Read more

Giraffe Manor is like something from a storybook. Only better, because it’s not an act of fiction! Located in Nairobi, this boutique hotel has a herd of Rothschild Giraffe that you don’t have to simply admire from afar. In fact, they might just join you for breakfast!

Is the soul colored or is it black and white? I find this quite confusing, since I believe that a colored soul is necessary for producing colored things. But then again, I’m sure that true color often comes from the deepest broken, damaged and divided black of one’s soul. Digital Jacklight is a mission to try and find out.
